The Good

  1. Fran Tarkenton blowing the Gjallarhorn.  Last week, it was a Minnesota Vikings Hall of Fame player who blew the horn.  This week, it will be another.  “The Mad Scrambler” is a huge part of Vikings history, and his friend Mick Tingelhoff was made an honorary captain for the game.
  2. Stuffing the run.  The Vikings gave up 90 yards on 28 carries, but a large percentage of that was during garbage time.  The biggest factor was that they kept the run contained, not allowing a run longer than 13 yards on the day.
  3. Creating turnovers and getting pressure.  Watching Anthony Barr force a fumble against Rivers was awesome, but the pressure was there all day.  Huge credit to the defensive front, especially Everson Griffen, on getting to the QB.  Not to mention a 91 yard interception return from…Chad Greenway?  Wow.
  4. Is the old Adrian Peterson back.  Seriously, watching Peterson on that 43 yard TD run brought back some great memories of his MVP season.  He ended the game with 126 rushing yards, which will do the trick to help out a struggling young quarterback.
