The Good

  1. Finally seeing Stefon Diggs active.  We’ve all wanted to see the rookie wide receiver in action.  The young man even got his number called a couple of times, giving up a glimpse at what Diggs could be in the future for the team.  More telling is that we saw a LOT of Diggs.
  2. The play in the middle of the defensive line.  Each week I watch Linval Joseph, I get more and mire impressed with him.  He was dominant in the middle, and aside from a silly offsides penalty from Shariff Floyd, those two big boys held their own in both the pass and run game.
  3. The Minnesota Vikings defense played like it should.  Mike Zimmer has had a couple of years now to build the team the way he wants.  He’s been able to piece together a solid group, but there are still some lapses in discipline that have given up some big plays.  Still, I’m a believer in Zimmer.
  4. Teddy Bridgewater keeping drives alive.  He was as elusive as he could be in the pocket.  And when the second year quarterback was chased, he somehow would find a way to pick up a first down with his skinny knees moving toward the first down marker.  Not turning the ball over against this Denver defense is very impressive.
  5. Anthony Barr is everywhere.  He’s fast, strong and big.  He gets interceptions, rushes the passer, breaks up screens.  It’s amazing what this guy can do.  For a guy who I didn’t see fitting in the Vikings defense when he was drafted, I’m so glad that I was 100% wrong.
  6. He’s the best running back in the league for a reason.  Seriously, you keep feeding Adrian Peterson the ball and good things will happen.  That run on 4th and 1 for a touchdown was unbelievable.  Lean on the former NFL MVP and the entire offense will get easier.
