The Bad

  1. Pass protection.  Unless it was a quick pass or a wide receiver screen, Teddy Bridgewater had no time to let a play develop.  In fact, the two sacks on the opening drive were a bad sign from the start of the game and ended up giving Denver good field position early.
  2. Inability to get to Peyton Manning.  If the Minnesota Vikings offensive line is struggling, then the Broncos’ is a train wreck.  Still, Denver found a way to time their passes and get help to ensure that the wily veteran passer didn’t take the beating that Philip Rivers and Matt Stafford have the last couple weeks.
  3. Can I kick it?  I don’t think they can.  Is it fair to give up hope completely on place kicker Blair Walsh?  The team can’t pay him to be a kickoff specialist.  Missing that short field goal changed the momentum of the entire game.  He needs to make those easy ones.
  4. Miscommunication.  We’ve seen this play on the goal line where the Minnesota Vikings play the run and a play action makes an easy touchdown to a tight end or fullback too many times.  When the wires got crossed between Audie Cole and Chad Greenway and both played the run, it was a recipe for disaster.
  5. Is the Cordarrelle Patterson experiment coming to an end?  With the heavy dose of Stefon Diggs, we have to think that the Minnesota Vikings think he can handle more of the offense or be a bigger contributor in the passing game.  But where does this leave Patterson going forward?
