The Interesting
- WAY TOO MUCH PEYTON MANNING. Chicken parm is starting to taste like poop. First, we’ve gotta watch him yell “OMAHA” over and over. Then we have the hundreds of commercials that he seems to star in. This was just overload.
- So…what’s the game plan? Having the offense drop far back when the pass rush is in Teddy’s face is crazy. Norv Turner had a whole week to plan for the #1 defense in the NFL. I don’t understand this plan unless he thought that the team’s offensive line was ready for the task.
- Uneven calling of the game. There were plenty of times when the Broncos were either encroaching of blatantly offsides. Maybe it was easier to see at home on the big television, but from where I was sitting on my sofa, it was pretty obvious. The calls came a little more in the second half, but the refs sure didn’t hesitate to call an Everson Griffen flinch.
- Having to stream the game. I admit that I’m cheap. I also admit that I’ve been lucky with games being televised in Michigan so far. However, when my lovely sports channels switch from football to bull riding, I think I have a valid excuse to be upset. Bull riding? Seriously?
- Why does this feel like a playoff game? Going into this game, we knew that the Minnesota Vikings were going to get a big test, but the fact that they were able to keep up with one of the best teams in the NFL gave the game an almost playoff type atmosphere. It just felt MUCH more important than it really is.
