Minnesota Vikings: Playoff contenders or regular season pretenders?
By Adam Carlson
The Minnesota Vikings are one of only 6 teams in the NFC with a winning record, but not everyone is buying into the hype surrounding the tough football team.
The Minnesota Vikings are a team that has the fan base excited. They’ve won three games in a row, including two division road battles and are now just one game behind the Green Bay Packers for first place in the NFC North. However, not everyone shares that excitement.
Recently, our friends over at 120 Sports sat down to talk about the Minnesota Vikings postseason chances, and they didn’t look very favorably on the boys in purple. In fact, one host has a very specific reason for not believing in the team while another lays down a bold statement that could be trouble for the Vikings if it becomes reality.
Here is that video:
As you could see, one gentleman named his reason for thinking that the Vikings won’t reach the postseason as not believing in quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. This is the same Bridgewater who is nominated for the Castrol Edge Clutch Performance of the Week for last week’s win against the Chicago Bears. Although he went on to say that he really likes what Mike Zimmer is doing with ball control and the team’s defense, he still says they won’t be in the playoffs.
The roughest part of the video game at the end when the man on the right gave the following prediction: “I think they lose their next three games.” Admittedly, the schedule for Minnesota the next three weeks is no cakewalk. They take on the St. Louis Rams (4-3), Oakland Raiders (4-3) and Green Bay Packers (6-1). He does have an interesting point, as the Minnesota Vikings have yet to beat a team with a winning record this season and these three games will be huge tests for the team.
It will be interesting to see how the Minnesota Vikings handle this upcoming string of difficult games. It is those contests that will help determine whether the team are contenders or pretenders this season.
