If you were to glance at the Minnesota Vikings injury report this week, you’d think the entire defense was hurting. However, some players seem to be worse off than others, as encouraging rookie middle linebacker Eric Kendricks has already been declared out for Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams.
In his place, the team will turn to the exciting thumper Audie Cole. Fans have loved this young man since he recorded two interceptions for touchdowns in a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on August 17, 2012. Since then, he’s been a solid player on special teams and a great backup for the squad, even landing 6 starting roles for the Vikings in his 4 seasons with the team.
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer had some words of praise for Audie Cole in a recent article on the Pioneer Press website.
"“He’s a smart guy,” Zimmer said. “He’s very passionate about his job. He’s always looking for an opportunity to show what he can do. Most of the time when he’s had those opportunities he’s done well. He takes a lot of pride in his job. He’s a great team guy, adds a lot of value to us regardless of what he’s doing — special teams (and) defense.”"

Audie Cole is ready to take on the starting role for Minnesota on Sunday and understand how valuable a player can be to the team when they can step into roles when needed.
"“You’ve got to be ready at all times,” he said. “That’s how you stay around, and that’s how you do something. Whenever you get a chance, you’ve got to go make a play.”"
