The Confusing

  1. The Vikings have 7 straight home wins.  I love TCF Bank Stadium.  Had a great time there watching the game against the Chiefs.  But let’s be honest…that’s not the Vikings home.  It’s like when you have to go away for a little while and set up an office in the hotel room.  It’s where you work, but it’s not home.
  2. Skip the extra point, but nail the 61 yard field goal.  I didn’t understand the Rams skipping the extra point and going for 2 after their first TD.  I just assumed something was wrong with Zuerlein.  Then, he comes out and easily makes a 61 yard field goal.  I’m still scratching my head.
  3. So, diving for a QB’s knees after they release the ball is okay, but a forearm in the chest isn’t?  Gregg Williams is the defensive coordinator for the Rams, and as we remember, he was the supposed ringleader during the Saints’ “Bountygate”.  A bad low dive isn’t called against St. Louis, but a clean hit from Linval Joseph is?
  4. Choosing the wind over possession in overtime.  Mike Zimmer must be really confident that his team can keep the Rams out of the end zone.  If they can get a stop, the strong wind can really help the passing game as well as the kicking game.  Still, it’s hard to turn down the football on a coin flip.
  5. Launching for a diving quarterback.  Joyner just made one of the dirtiest plays I’ve seen in a long, long time.  It took Teddy Bridgewater laying on the field motionless for a flag to come out.  This should be an ejection, but that wasn’t the case.  Sometimes, I just don’t understand football.
