Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his performance against the Oakland Raiders in week 10.
On Sunday, November 15, 2015, the Minnesota Vikings traveled to California to take on the Oakland Raiders in a game between two young teams on the rise. However, it was 30-year-old running back Adrian Peterson who took center stage for the Vikings offense, gaining 203 rushing yards on 26 carries in Minnesota’s 30-14 victory.
The big play from Peterson came in the 4th quarter, when the Raiders were attempting to make a comeback. The Vikings started at their own 20 yard line when the former NFL MVP broke loose for an 80 yard touchdown run which put the finishing touches on the game.
In honor of his performance against the Raiders, Adrian Peterson was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week.

Adrian Peterson is no stranger to this award. In fact, he won it 15 times in his career, with the last award coming against the Chicago Bears in 2013. The interesting part of these wins is that only four of the fifteen honors came in the first half of the NFL season, proving that Peterson turns things up as the season goes on.
Peterson trails only LaDainian Tomlinson in terms of number of FedEx Ground Player of the Week Awards, as he ended his career with 18 of the awards.
Congratulations go out to Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings on winning this award. However, time to celebrate will be cut short, as the team will be preparing to take on NFC North rivals the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, November 22, 2015.
