Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer hopes to put the loss to the Green Bay Packers behind the team and focus on next week’s game against the Falcons.

It’s no secret that the Minnesota Vikings are frustrated by the crushing home loss to the Green Bay Packers. In fact, the team seemed to make so many mistakes and draw so many penalties that the game never felt within reach.

Following the big loss, the Vikings are left to try to pick up the pieces, regroup and prepare for their future opponents. Judging by their tough upcoming schedule, Minnesota doesn’t have much time to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it, but head coach Mike Zimmer is ready to get to work.

According to an article on the Vikings.com website, Zimmer isn’t pleased with his team’s performance on Sunday, but won’t let one setback get in the way of his ultimate vision for the team.

We just have to figure out who we are and stay true to who we are and not let outside influences affect us and just go ahead and play.”"

In classic Mike Zimmer fashion, he won’t let his players mope around and dwell on the loss too much. When the team gets back together on Wednesday for practice, he expects everyone to be ready to get to work.

"“I told them, it’s OK to be upset today,” Zimmer said. “But when they come in … Wednesday they better be smiling because it’s time to get going.”"

The Minnesota Vikings will take on the Atlanta Falcons in just five days. Atlanta is 6-4 during the 2015 season and have one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL to compliment an explosive passing game. This will be a big challenge for the Vikings, but it will also help show how quickly this Minnesota team can turn things around.
