The Good

  1. Danielle Hunter developing nicely at defensive end.  He was anticipated as being a project player. He’s one of those guys that has a lot of raw talent but is coming along much more quickly than many thought he would. Still, he’s a young guy with a lot left to learn and seeing flashes like this hints at his potential.
  2. Mike Wallace getting involved. The veteran wide receiver actually led the Minnesota Vikings in receiving yards, catching two passes for 43 yards in the loss. While that may not seem like much, it does show that Wallace is still out there grinding and hoping to get on the same page as his quarterback.
  3. Antone Exum making big plays early. He made a big play on a fumble recovery early in the game, flashing some of that big play ability that we’ve heard about the young man having. Still, he needs to focus on fundamentals, as his angles of pursuit and tackling were suspect.
  4. Cordarrelle Patterson returning a kick for a touchdown.  YAY! Glad someone scored a touchdown. It was hard to get excited about this score though, as the game was already well out of reach for the Minnesota Vikings. Still, its good that someone scored for boys in purple this week.
  5. Nobody died. I know, this is a fluff “good”. But let’s be honest, there wasn’t much about this game to like. Whether you’re watching the offense or the defense, nothing was working. However, everyone lived to play another day, which is a good thing since the Vikings like having their players alive.
