Chad Greenway and Anthony Barr celebrate Shakopee generosity
By Adam Carlson
Minnesota Vikings linebackers Chad Greenway and Anthony Barr visited a Shakopee high school to celebrate their charitable generosity this year.
Chad Greenway seems to always be busy with either his work on the field for the Minnesota Vikings or his efforts in charity. Greenway’s Lead The Way Foundation helps many people through his Chad’s Locker, TendHER Heart Luncheon, and many other initiatives. However, he will always take time out to celebrate the youth of America doing great things.
This time, Chad Greenway and fellow linebacker Anthony Barr traveled to Shakopee High School according to Vikings.com to celebrate the students who gathered the most items (4,403) for the Salvation Army’s Warm & Fed Challenge.
Shakopee High School is no stranger to visits from the Vikings. Last year, the school also gathered the most food and winter clothing items during the initial year of the challenge.

Greenway brought linebacker Anthony Barr, Viktor the Viking, and several of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders with him to the celebration this year. The veteran linebacker is also nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, but that wasn’t a big topic of discussion at the rally, instead the focus was on doing what is right for the community and those in need.
"“People lose perspective on what’s important, and I think helping your fellow man in anything you’re trying to do, but for us, the small part we’re trying to do as a family, as a foundation is our part,” Greenway said at last year’s celebration."
Major congratulations to Shakopee High School for winning the Warm & Fed Challenge for two years in a row. Also, a big ‘thank you’ goes out to Chad Greenway, Anthony Barr, the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders and the entire organization for supporting this charitable donation drive.
