After a short week to prepare, the Minnesota Vikings were scheduled to take on the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. The team was humiliated on Sunday by a Seattle Seahawks team that had their way with Minnesota both offensively and defensively as Minnesota went on to play some of the least disciplined football of the year.
Now, Minnesota has dropped out of first place in the NFC North and has to win games in order to hope to stay alive in the tough NFC wild card race. Another loss tonight would make it much more difficult for the Vikings to finish out their schedule and show they can be a playoff team while Arizona can secure a playoff spot with a win tonight.
With injuries piling up for Minnesota and new faces starting for the team, this seems like a game that could be that “statement” game the Vikings are looking for. If they can defeat a tough team like Arizona on a short week following a big loss, that would say a lot about their team and how much this game means to them.
This game ended with a final score of 20-23 in favor of the Arizona Cardinals. There were some good, bad, and interesting things that happened in the game. Let’s talk about the good things first!
