12. Vikings beat Packers on Monday night
Oct. 5, 1998. The Vikings and Randy Moss shocked Brett Favre and the Packers at Lambeau Field.
Moss’ rookie season still stands as one of the most stunning debuts in NFL history.
For many folks, the week 5 Monday night game between the Vikings and Packers at Lambeau was the first moment of Moss revelation.
Moss caught five passes that night from Randall Cunningham, tallying 190 yards and two touchdowns.
The Packers defense was helpless in the face of the Vikings’ high-flying offense, with Cunningham throwing for 442 yards and four touchdowns.
Not only did Moss arrive as a prime time player that evening, the Vikings also announced that the Packers were no longer the favorites in the division.
After Moss and Cunningham put the torches to the Packers, the whole NFL knew which team was the true team to beat in the NFC.
