Minnesota Vikings: 6 players make PFF’s Pro Bowl roster
By Adam Carlson
While the official Pro Bowl voting is still going on, Pro Football Focus has assembled their own version of a Pro Bowl roster including 6 Minnesota Vikings.
The NFL’s Pro Bowl voting is being tabulated. One week before the Super Bowl, those players will be playing in a game celebrating their popularity and contributions to their teams. And while being popular is a great thing, the Pro Bowl doesn’t always fill their rosters based on the best players from the season.
The folks over at Pro Football Focus decided to make their own Pro Bowl roster and include their highest scoring players at each position in the fake all-star game. Included on the roster are six members of the Minnesota Vikings.
Here are the six players from the Vikings on PFF’s Pro Bowl rosters:
Perhaps the two biggest surprises here are the inclusion of center Joe Berger and kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson. However, Berger is the highest graded center in the NFL according to PFF and Patterson, while not being included in the passing game, has been having a very good year returning kicks (30.1 yards per return, 2 touchdowns).
The other four aren’t that big of surprises. Peterson, Joseph, Barr and Smith have each been essential in getting the Minnesota Vikings where they are this year and their contributions have not gone unnoticed by PFF, who has each player graded very highly.
Although these aren’t official teams with any prize for placing, congratulations still go out to the six Minnesota Vikings players honored by Pro Football Focus on their Pro Bowl team. For the complete list of PFF Pro Bowl players, go to the official Pro Football Focus website.
