Minnesota Vikings: Top 30 draft picks in franchise history
By Dan Zinski
23. Jake Reed
Jake Reed didn’t exactly take off in his first few years with the Vikings.
The former Grambling St. receiver was taken by Minnesota with the 68th overall pick in the 1991 draft but caught only 11 balls in his first three seasons.
Reed then made some changes to his game, including working to improve his vision, and became a completely different player.
Jake went over the 1,000-yard receiving mark in each of the next four seasons. Before Cris Carter and Randy Moss teamed up, the dynamic duo in Minnesota was Carter and Reed.
The one-time third round pick finished his Vikings career with 6,433 yards and 33 touchdowns.
