Adrian Peterson only Vikings player invited to Pro Bowl

The list of players invited to play in the Pro Bowl was released by the NFL, and running back Adrian Peterson is the only Minnesota Vikings representative.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was honored today by being selected as the only player from the team to receive an invitation to the annual Pro Bowl in Hawaii. Peterson is currently the NFL’s leading rusher going into week 16 of the season, having accumulated 1314 rushing yards on 286 carries.

While being named to the Pro Bowl means that you have a special place in the hearts of fans, it can also be a bit of a problem for players having wonderful seasons who are overlooked in the selection process and lose out due to playing in a smaller market of not having name recognition.

There are four other Minnesota Vikings players who should have been included in the Pro Bowl. Defensive tackle Linval Joseph, linebacker Anthony Barr, safety Harrison Smith, and center Joe Berger are all having amazing seasons and will likely find themselves as members of the All-Pro team when that roster is revealed, but missed out on the Pro Bowl.

Still, the Minnesota Vikings aren’t a team to be focused on individual accomplishments. Even Adrian Peterson is focused on the major goal at hand: the Super Bowl.

Congratulations to Adrian Peterson for making the Pro Bowl roster. However, the running back is 100% correct that making the Super Bowl would be much sweeter than playing in the glorified all-star game.
