The Minnesota Vikings will be facing a desperate New York Giants football team which has to win all their remaining games for a chance at the NFL playoffs.
Minnesota Vikings fans have been focusing on what Sunday Night Football’s game against the New York Giants could mean for the boys in purple, however what might be a bigger story is what is going on for their opponents. They are in a similar situation to the one the Vikings have, only the boys in blue need to win all their remaining games to have a shot at a playoff berth.
The NFC East is bad this year. Their representative (which will be the #4 seed in the NFC playoffs) could be a team which ends the season with only seven or eight wins for the season. Because of that, the door is open for the Giants to possibly sneak into the postseason.
As stated earlier, the Giants would have to win their remaining games with two losses by the Washington Redskins and they would be the NFC East champions. Because of this, New York could be a much more dangerous opponent on Sunday even without their star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Professional football teams can always be extra dangerous when they have their backs up against the wall. The Giants can be an offensively explosive team, as they showed in the 38-35 shootout against the Carolina Panthers in week 15.
The Minnesota Vikings will have to play solid football and make few mistakes against this desperate New York Giants football team on Sunday if they hope to walk out of TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis with a victory. This will be a game where the team who wants the win the most will likely accomplish their goal, and Minnesota needs to remember that week 16 is more than just a speed bump to the NFL playoffs or NFC North crown.
Of course, that could all change with a Washington win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday Night Football, which would automatically eliminate the Giants from playoff contention.
