Minnesota Vikings fans know Packers are still dangerous

Minnesota Vikings fans have been around the block too many times to get cocky about the upcoming game against the Packers.

The Green Bay Packers may be down after getting their tails kicked by the Arizona Cardinals but they are far from out.

A lot of folks out there may be ready to write off Green Bay but Minnesota Vikings fans know better.

You don’t go into Lambeau Field in late-December/early-January and expect a cake walk. So what if the Packers just lost a tough road game by 30 points?

Does it matter that Aaron Rodgers looked like crap against the Arizona Cardinals? No, it does not.

Viking fans know better than to get caught up in all that goofy calculus. “Well the Cardinals beat the Packers by 30 but the Vikings only lost to the Cardinals by three so that means the Vikings must be better than the Packers!”

That stuff doesn’t amount to a hill of cheese. And Viking fans know it.

Yes, Teddy Bridgewater has been playing better than Aaron Rodgers over the last few weeks. Yes Adrian Peterson is a much better runner than Eddie Lacy or anyone else the Packers can throw out there.

It’s even true that the Vikings probably have a better top-to-bottom receiver/tight end corps than Green Bay right now. When was the last time you could legitimately say that?

And it goes without saying that the Vikings’ defense is way better than Green Bay’s. I mean that’s not even a debate.

That stuff all sounds great on Monday afternoon, but it doesn’t matter. None of those stats will mean anything when the Vikes and Packers come out of the tunnel Sunday night.

Aaron Rodgers has struggled a little bit in recent weeks? That won’t matter come Sunday.

I don’t want to hear about all the pressure the Packers have been giving up and how Mike Zimmer is going to blitz the heck out of Green Bay and Rodgers is going to be batted around like a rag doll.

Next: Vikings pick off Manning twice in half

If you think Aaron Rodgers is somehow done, you’re an idiot. If you think the worm has already turned in the division, you’re nuts.

For the worm to truly turn the Vikings have to beat Green Bay Sunday night. And if you think it’s a foregone conclusion that Minnesota will get that done, just because recently the Vikes have been up and the Packers down, you know zilch about the NFL and zilch about this rivalry.
