Minnesota Vikings HC Mike Zimmer: ‘No t-shirts this week’

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer will not be printing t-shirts for when the team takes on Green Bay in week 17 for the NFC North division title.

Back in week 11 of the NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Green Bay Packers in an NFC North division match-up, head coach Mike Zimmer decided to print up some t-shirts that said “Beat Green Bay” in order to motivate his players.

Sadly, that plan backfired horribly. The Vikings found themselves on the bad end of a butt whooping, losing to the Packers 13-30 and the shirts looked like a massive mistake as well as a cheesy way to hype an important game.

Now, the Minnesota Vikings will be traveling to Green Bay in week 17 to play the Packers with the NFC North title on the line. This is another opportunity for Zimmer to get his first win over Green Bay as the Vikings head coach. However, he plans to have a little different plan for motivating his players this week.

According to Pro Football Talk’s website, the head coach assures that there will be no t-shirts printed for this week’s game.

Instead of clothing, the Vikings will be pushed to believe that they’re a good football team, which is something that Zimmer understands from his early days with the Bengals.

"“When I was in Cincinnati at the early stages of when I was there, we played somebody, a good football team, I can’t remember exactly who it was and they beat us that day and they said, ‘You know those guys, they have a good football team, they just have to believe.’ I talked to the defense about it and we started believing that we were a good football team. I think our guys believe that we are.”"
