Minnesota Vikings heating up at just the right time
By Adam Carlson
The Minnesota Vikings have put together some of their best games recently, giving hope that the team can make some noise in the NFL playoffs this season.
If there’s one thing that overall statistics and team records can’t account for, it’s a team’s momentum. Right now, the Minnesota Vikings have some good momentum headed into the final week of the 2015 season and the NFL playoffs.
As we’ve seen in the past, getting hot at the end of the season can be a great thing. The best example of this are the 2007 New York Giants, who barely got into the NFL playoffs and won their way all way to a Super Bowl Championship. Now, I’m not saying that this team is likely to accomplish a feat like that, but it’s definitely a good thing to be playing your best football at the end of the season.
Even the players have taken notice of the hot play recently, with cornerback Captain Munnerlyn feeling the team’s momentum according to a recent tweet from the official Minnesota Vikings twitter account:
The Minnesota Vikings will want to keep that momentum going as they take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, January 3, 2016 with the NFC North division title on the line. A victory there means that the Vikings would be hosting the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs.
As Vikings fans already remember, those two teams have already defeated Minnesota this season. However, with the team playing some of their best football right now, these games might be a little different the second time around.
If history has proven anything, it’s that if you are in the playoffs, you have a chance of winning the Super Bowl. Some roads to the big game are harder than others or require a team to dig deep, but this Minnesota Vikings team has shown that they are ready to play with emotion and show that they are a team to be taken seriously.
