The Bad

  1. Missing on deep throws early.  Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater took some big shots on the first drive to Jerick McKinnon, MyCole Pruitt and Jarius Wright, but couldn’t connect on any of them. While stretching the defense is good, you have to make them pay for pressing against the run.
  2. The Vikings can’t stop Eddie Lacy.  He’s got a lot of bulk and Minnesota has struggled to tackle the bruising runner. There were multiple times that Minnesota should have had him stopped at the line of scrimmage but he just bulldozed his way through the Vikings defense to gain several yards after contact.
  3. Is Aaron Rodgers made of petroleum jelly?  Every time it seemed like the Vikings got their hands on the Green Bay quarterback, he made some kind of move to get away from them. This Minnesota team is getting to Rodgers and making him scramble, but couldn’t bring him down when they got chances.
  4. Matt Kalil and Brandon Fusco on stunts.  When the Packers rushed normally, these two guys were able to contain fairly well. However, as soon as there was some change on the rush the two looked so baffled and one player (usually Kalil) ended up standing straight up watching the defenders run past the duo to the quarterback.
  5. Lack of pressure on Aaron Rodgers. The Vikings pressured him in the first half, but during the second half there were plenty of occasions where the Packers quarterback could have completed a Sudoku puzzle in the pocket before throwing his pass. Defensive line was getting manhandled by a makeshift Packers line.
