The Minnesota Vikings have signed seven players from their practice squad to reserve/futures deals to ensure they will be in training camp for 2016.

Now that the Minnesota Vikings are no longer competing for the biggest prize in football, it’s time to set the team’s focus to the 2016 NFL and begin looking forward to free agency, the draft and training camp. Typically, one of the first steps that a team takes in that process is signing some players to reserve/futures deals to ensure that they will be in training camp.

It was announced today on Vikings.com that seven members of the team’s practice squad received the deals, which ensure that they will be invited to participate in training camp. Theses contracts are typically given to players who have shown a lot of potential, but are aren’t quite ready to make the jump to the 53-man roster.

Here are the Minnesota Vikings players who were signed to reserve/futures deals:

Isame Faciane, guard

Issac Fruechte, wide receiver

Toby Johnson, defensive tackle

John Loudermilk, safety

Terrance Plummer, linebacker

Blake Renaud, fullback

Alex Singleton, linebacker

These seven players will get another opportunity to make a mark on the team and show that they deserve to stick with the Minnesota Vikings for the 2016 NFL season.

In the past, players like wide receiver Adam Thielen and Anthony Harris spent their time on the practice squad before getting called up to the main roster and making an impact for the team.

Congratulations to these seven players on their deals and hopefully they can continue to impress the Minnesota Vikings and prove their worth in the NFL.
