Minnesota Vikings assistant general manager George Paton will not interview for a position in the Tennessee Titans front office for the 2016 season.

Minnesota Vikings assistant general manager George Paton is a man who is in high demand in the National Football League.

The Vikings executive has been a major part in helping Minnesota build the young, talented team they have assembled over the last eight years, receiving multiple promotions over the course of that time to show him how valuable he is to the organization. His contributions weren’t unnoticed by the team, and sadly that means other NFL teams started to recognize his value as well.

Paton received several invitations to interview for general manager jobs in the NFL. Most recently, his name was linked to openings in Tennessee and Detroit for their GM spots and was even rumored to be on the short list for Atlanta. However, the Lions were impatient filling their spot, and hired their new boss before Paton was available to interview. But when the Minnesota Vikings season ended, Paton had the option of applying for the Titans job.

It was announced today by Fox Sports reporter Alex Marvez on Twitter that George Paton will not interview for other jobs in the league, opting to stay with the Minnesota Vikings. This is a great sign that he is happy with his current position and feels that his efforts are being recognized by a young organization on the rise.

General manager Rick Spielman and George Paton have become a force in the Minnesota Vikings front office, engineering some of the best trades and draft picks in recent team history. Hopefully, this will be a combination that keeps the team young, fresh and talented for years to come.
