The Minnesota Vikings announce they have re-signed wide receiver Adam Thielen and offensive lineman Carter Bykowski.
Everybody’s favorite plucky underdog wide receiver is coming back to the Minnesota Vikings for at least one more season.
On Monday, the Vikings announced they have locked up exclusive rights free agent Adam Thielen. The Vikings also signed tackle Carter Bykowski to a new deal.
The 25-year-old Thielen was a surprise addition to the 53-man roster two years ago after an impressive training camp. Since then, Thielen has grown into a reliable receiver and excellent special teams contributor.
The 25-year-old Bykowski was originally a seventh round pick of the 49ers out of Iowa State. The Vikings signed him off the San Francisco practice squad in 2014 and had him back in camp in 2015. Unfortunately, Bykowski suffered a torn pec and missed the entire year after being placed on injured reserve.
Thielen and Bykowski are both natives of Minnesota. Thielen played his college ball at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
In addition to the Thielen and Bykowski moves, the Vikings also officially announced the signing of safety Andrew Sendejo. Media reports say Sendejo signed for $16 million over four years but other reports say the real value of his contract is closer to $6 million over two years.
Another report says the Vikings have retained right tackle Phil Loadholt on a new incentive-laden one-year deal.
It was also reported that the Vikings have signed DT Kenrick Ellis to a one-year deal.
The Vikings also announce that they’ve tendered RFA fullback Zach Line.
