ESPN’s Mel Kiper and Todd McShay alternated picks during the 3 round mock of the 2016 NFL Draft, Here are who the experts selected for the Minnesota Vikings.

The 2016 NFL Draft is less than a week away, and draft fever is hitting fans hard. This time of year, many experts try their hand at predicting which collegiate superstars will land with specific NFL teams, but none of them are as high-profile as ESPN’s Mel Kiper and Todd McShay.

Recently, McShay and Kiper held a live draft on ESPN.com where the two draft experts took turns selecting players for each NFL team according to the draft order. They selected the prospect they felt best fit the team on the clock, rather than who they thought the team would select.

Here are the results of that mock draft for the Minnesota Vikings through the three rounds Kiper and McShay selected according to ESPN.com:

#23 overall – Mel Kiper selects: WR Laquon Treadwell, Ole Miss

"“If I’m the Vikings, I’m thrilled if Treadwell is still here. The deep speed is a legit concern, but Treadwell is a beast on contested catches, and he creates space. Obvious need and my young QB will be thrilled as well.”"

#54 overall – Todd McShay selects: S Darian Thompson, Boise State

"“Thompson is a true ball hawk in the back end, finishing his career with 19 interceptions. He’d form quite a safety tandem with Harrison Smith.”"

#86 overall – Todd McShay selects: CB Daryl Worley, West Virginia

"“Worley has an intriguing skill set as a press cornerback due to his combination of size, length and fluidity.”"

This would be a very satisfying draft if the Minnesota Vikings actually landed these players. All three fill a need and aren’t a value reach for where they were selected. It is possible that out of these three players, two could be day-one starters and adding young help in the secondary is always a good thing.
