The Minnesota Vikings finished signing their entire 2016 NFL Draft picks by inking a deal with first round wide receiver Laquon Treadwell earlier today.

It didn’t take long for the Minnesota Vikings to get their entire draft class under contract. One of the first things the team’s general manager Rick Spielman did following the undrafted free agent phase of the 2016 NFL Draft was work hard to get these players under contract so they could be available for minicamps and to acclimate them to the team.

Almost immediately, 7 of the 8 players signed deals with the team. Leaving only first round draft pick and former Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell as the only one still needing to sign. However, thanks to the Washington Redskins coming to terms with their rookie wide receiver Josh Doctson, the Minnesota Vikings and Treadwell were able to come to a deal fairly quickly.

The signing was announced on the official Minnesota Vikings twitter account, sharing a picture of the rookie wide receiver wearing a hat with the words “DREAM BIG” written boldly across the front. Here is that tweet:

Congratulations go out to Laquon Treadwell on getting his first NFL contract signed and kudos to the Minnesota Vikings for working swiftly to get all the members of the 2016 NFL Draft class deals so quickly. While the process of signing these players is much easier thanks to a simplified format laid out in the most recent Collective Bargaining Agreement, there are sometimes problems with the language in contracts or other stipulations that can make getting these kind of deals done, as fans saw with Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans last year.

You can see Laquon Treadwell and the rest of the Minnesota Vikings when they take to U.S. Bank Stadium for the 2016 season to defend the NFC North crown against the likes of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, and Detroit Lions as well as work to make the playoffs for back-to-back years and make a deep run at playing in the biggest game in football: the National Football League’s Super Bowl.
