Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was ranked as the 33rd quarterback for the 2016 fantasy football season according to ESPN’s Matthew Berry.

Fantasy football is a great game played by millions of people around the world. With the 2016 NFL season approaching, many fans are already trying to figure out which players they should target in their upcoming fantasy drafts and which ones to avoid. Sadly, it appears as though a prominent figure in the fantasy football world isn’t expecting much from one member of the Minnesota Vikings.

According to Matthew Berry’s fantasy football rankings released on the ESPN website on Wednesday, fans shouldn’t expect very much from Teddy Bridgewater. In fact, Barry thinks so lowly of the young quarterback that he has 32 other quarterbacks in the NFL listed above him as better options to draft.

Minnesota Vikings fans know that the team aren’t typically the kind of squad to throw the ball a lot. In fact, the team was dead last in pass attempts during the 2015 NFL season and that may not improve very much in 2016 thanks to having the league’s leading rusher in the backfield.

Still, this feels like a disrespect to Bridgewater that Berry feels every other starting quarterback in the NFL, as well as one backup, will score more fantasy points than the Minnesota Vikings passer. With all the work that the team put into building up the offensive line and the drafting of Ole Miss wide receiver in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, it’s difficult to believe there won’t be at least some kind of improvement in Bridgewater’s statistics this year.

However, respect should be earned and not given. In order to be taken more seriously as a quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater needs to prove that he can make plays and finish drives with touchdowns. Only then will he move up the fantasy football rankings.
