The date when the Minnesota Vikings will report to practice has been announced as well as when the team will hold their night practice and team introduction.

Another big step in getting the preseason started has happened recently, with the scheduling for some of the major events for Minnesota Vikings training camp being released as well as the introduction of the team to fans being being scheduled.

According to the post on the Minnesota Vikings official website, players are expected to arrive for training camp on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Prior to this date, those in attendance were participating in OTAs, or Organized Team Activities, which are not considered a full practice according to the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement.

The first actual team practice will take place on Friday, July 29, 2016. However, a majority of the players have already been participating in the squad’s OTAs and should be prepared for whatever the coaches throw at them during the first practice.

With the official start to the preseason kicking off, it’s no surprise that the team will also be introducing their team to fans much like they have in the past. That event will be a night practice on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Blakeslee Stadium following a nighttime practice, which will include fireworks and hopefully fanfare.

The full official schedule for events during preseason have yet to be released by the team, but the article does say that those events will be scheduled and announced at a later date.

This will be the 51st consecutive year that the training camp activities will take place on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato and will be called the 2016 Verizon Vikings Training Camp.

Training camp is a great opportunity to meet some players, get autographs, and watch the team practice. When the full schedule of events is released, that information will be passed along. Until then, it is reassuring to know that the regular season keeps creeping closer and closer to beginning for the Minnesota Vikings.
