The Minnesota Vikings have a deep and talented roster, so earning a spot on the final 53 will be tougher than ever this year.
As minicamp wraps up and players scatter around the country for their final month of rest and relaxation before the season, everyone is turning their attention to training camp.
With little news to discuss during this last stretch of the offseason, fans and experts alike are tossing around bold predictions about what the roster will look like as training camp shakes out.
For the Vikings, predicting the 53-man roster isn’t as impossible a task as it is for some teams. With established veterans or up-and-coming talents filling out every position, much of the roster appears set in stone.
For fringe players vying for a spot on the team, the competition will be fierce.
Yet every year, a few hidden gems emerge when given the chance. Whether they are late-round draft picks, undrafted free agents, or perceived veteran “camp bodies”, there are always unheralded players who stand out in the heat of competition.
