Mike Harris was moved to guard before the 2015 season, after filling in at tackle for an injured Phil Loadholt in 2014. The Vikings brought Harris back on a one year contract to compete with Fusco for the starting right guard position. Arguably the Vikings’ second best lineman last season (behind Joe Berger), Harris was given a grade of 76.9 by PFF, 23rd best amongst guards in the league.

Similar to Fusco, Harris’ roster spot could come down to winning the starting right guard battle. As listed on the previous slide, the Vikings have plenty of young players along the offensive line who they have high hopes for, so a veteran with a multi-million-dollar cap hit will find it hard to make the team as a backup.

Harris has a cap hit of $3 million this season, but only $500,000 of that is guaranteed. If the Vikings were to trade (or cut) Harris, the team would save $2.5 million.
