Minnesota Vikings defensive players who could be traded
Brian Robison has been in Minnesota since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL draft. A durable player, Robison has only missed one game in the last five seasons. Over the course of his career, he has accumulated 48.5 sacks and 176 tackles. Robison played well in 2015, earning a 73.7 player grade according to PFF.
Robison has been holding down the left defensive end spot for years, but his time might be nearing an end. At 33 years old, Brian only has a couple of years left before father time forces him to hang up his cleats. Knowing this, the Vikings went out and drafted Danielle Hunter last year.
Hunter was projected by many to be a “project”, a player who wouldn’t be able to contribute for a couple of years. To the surprise of everyone, Hunter not only played a ton of snaps in 2015, but played very well. Hunter’s PFF grade of 76.8 was the second best edge rushing grade in Minnesota last season (Everson Griffen, 83.3), and was good enough for 42nd in the NFL.

Robison has a cap hit of $5.25 million this season and $6.6 million in 2017. With $2 million still guaranteed, the Vikings would save $3.25 million this season if they were to trade or cut him.
