Vikings Tasting festival seeks non-profit volunteers

The Mankato tourism bureau is seeking individuals from local non-profit organizations to volunteer for the Vikings Tasting festival to help with the event.

Vikings Tasting is one of the most popular non-football events the football team in Minnesota participates in. In addition to great food, there is plenty of entertainment and interaction to keep fans interested at the annual festival.

The Mankato tourism bureau announced on the Mankato Free Press website that they are looking for 27 individuals from local non-profit organizations to volunteer for various shifts at the event. Duties will range from set-up, working the event itself and the helping with the post-event take-down and clean-up.

There will be individuals from the Vikings on hand,and the prices to attend the festival are very reasonable. Here are the details about the event:

"“Vikings Tasting offers food and music, along with former players, cheerleaders and a mascot provided by the Minnesota Vikings. The three-hour event, which costs $20 ($10 for children 12 and under), begins at 5 p.m. July 29 on the 500 block of South Front Street.”"

Volunteers won’t go unrewarded though. The article claims that those who organizations who have members donate their time for the event will receive an apron autographed by one of the former featured guests from last year’s Vikings Tasting, including Matt Blair, Milt Sunde, Leo Lewis and Matthew Hatchette.

Any interested local non-profit organizations who will be available on the evening of July 29th could take advantage of this great opportunity, meet some great people, and be part of one of the maybe even meet some Minnesota Vikings players, cheerleaders, or representatives in the process.

Last year, several current and former Minnesota Vikings players and cheerleaders attended the festival, with some of them even singing karaoke, playing games and mingling with those in attendance. It appears as though the Vikings Tasting festival scheduled for Front Street on July 29th is a can’t miss event to attend or help put on in the Mankato area this year! Be there or be square.
