Randy Moss says his famous catchphrase Straight Cash Homie would never have happened without the help of Packer fans who mooned him and his teammates at Lambeau Field.
Packer fans hated Randy Moss, and with good reason, because he used to routinely torch Green Bay on the field.
When Moss and the Vikings visited Lambeau Field for the playoffs in 2004, Packer fans made plain their hatred of the purple and especially Mr. Moss by mooning the team bus as it pulled into the stadium parking lot.
Moss remembered the Cheeseheads’ vulgar display and when he and the Vikings were in the midst of sending the Packers to a shocking upset loss that day he gave it right back to Green Bay’s fans by celebrating a touchdown with a fake moon.
Joe Buck and Packer fans were upset at Moss’ pantomime, and after the game the NFL made their own disdain known by fining Moss $10,000.
That sets up the other part of the legendary story, the part where Moss coined a phrase that will go down in history
Asked by a reporter what means he used to pay his fines, Moss unleashed the immortal words “Straight cash, homie.”
That catchphrase would immediately attach itself to Moss and to this day he still scrawls it on autographed items.
In a video posted to Instagram, Moss gave a shout-out to Packer fans for helping inspire one of the great one-liners in sports history.

Next: Favre should have listened to Allen
I urge all Viking fans to, if they should run into a Cheesehead somewhere in their daily travels, take a moment to thank him/her for whatever part they and their brethren may have played in helping touch off the chain of events that led to Randy Moss’ most hilarious utterance.
Thanks, drunk Packer fans.
