Minnesota Vikings Captain Munnerlyn: ‘Anything is possible’
By Adam Carlson
Minnesota VIkings defensive back Captain Munnerlyn took some time out of his schedule to tell children at a football camp that ‘anything is possible’.
Football is a wonderful thing. For many youngsters, the thought of one day playing in the National Football League is enough to fuel them to put everything they have into perfecting the sport. Yet, for others, they play only to have fun or be with friends and want to pursue other life goals.

Thankfully, many athletes understand this situation all too well. One individual who wanted to send a positive message to the participants of a free football camp at Murphy High School was Minnesota Vikings defensive back Captain Munnerlyn.
According to an article on AL.com, Munnerlyn has been working with the kids at Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama for several years now.
"“I can’t believe it. This is my seventh annual camp. I’ve been in the NFL going on eight years – this is my eighth season. It’s definitely and truly a blessing just to come back to my hometown and give back to the community. I was kind of late getting down here. I got down here on Wednesday or Thursday. I usually spend at least two weeks down here before the camp, but I just got married. I’m just happy I was able to put on another great camp.”"
Despite having to cut his time at this year’s camp short, the message Munnerlyn wanted the camp participants to know that even though things can seem tough sometimes, hard work and determination can help to breed success in anything they desire.
"“Anything is possible. I was a seventh-round pick. Wasn’t supposed to make the team. Ended up becoming an NFL starter, going on eight years now in the league. Just let them know that even if you’re from Mobile, Alabama, anything is possible. A small-town kid from Mobile, Alabama, I’m still out here working, still in the NFL, still getting better each and every day.”"
