Third Quarter

@ Redskins, vs Cardinals, @ Lions, vs Cowboys

Prediction: 3-1

The Washington Redskins were the most surprising team making the playoffs last year, like the Minnesota Vikings they were sent home Wildcard weekend. Dallas and New York will both be way better than last season and the Minnesota Vikings will also lead to helping the Redskins finish 8-8 or worse this season. In Washington this game will be close but the Minnesota Vikings will emerge victorious.

This pick is painful but this will be the home loss for the Vikings this season. Many factors contributed to this decision but the number 1 reason for this choice is the level of success the Cardinals have had when Carson Palmer plays. That being said, if Palmer is injured this game turns from a hard-fought loss, to a win.

The Detroit Lions, a team that will be looking for their identity this season, are the most likely to be swept by all NFC teams this season. Maybe they are being overlooked but they have lost two of their best players on both sides of the ball over the last 2 seasons and really have not done much to bolster their losses. If this season doesn’t go as expected, the Minnesota Vikings may have a difficult time in Detroit, but this should be a win no matter what.

The Minnesota Vikings are fortunate to be facing the Dallas Cowboys at home, if this game was away I would be leaning this game to a loss. That is if Tony Romo can play the whole season, it’s not out of the realm of possibility, he will be in a cast holding a clipboard this late in the season. I never wish for any NFL player to be injured, not even Aaron Rodgers, because that’s just in poor taste, but its been a really tough go to keep Romo on the field. This years NFC North champion Minnesota Vikings roll over this upcoming seasons NFC East champion Cowboys.
