Hot take: Mike Zimmer will be Coach of the Year

There are many great coaches in the NFL. Guys like Belichick, Carroll, Arians and others will be annual contenders for the league’s Coach of the Year honors who could make it tough for anyone else to step in and take the biggest coaching honor the NFL has to offer.

But this will be the season where the league will have to take notice of Mike Zimmer. If not for an amazing season from Ron Rivera and the Carolina Panthers, Zimmer’s name likely would have been in the conversation last year. However, if the Minnesota Vikings can improve on their season from last year and all three phases of the game improve, there is a pretty good chance it could happen.
