Burning hot take: Bridgewater will throw for 4,000 yards in 2016

Expectations aren’t very high for the Minnesota Vikings passing game this season. After throwing for only 3,231 yards in 2015, predicting an improvement of over 700 yards for this coming year might sound really extreme.

However, this difference isn’t as crazy when you look at it in terms of passing yards per game. To reach 4,000 yards, Bridgewater will need to average 250 yards per game. Last season, he only managed 202 yards per game. Yes, that means an increase of 48 yards in the air per game, but that is definitely doable.

With Diggs exploding onto the scene, using a top draft pick on Treadwell, using running backs more in the backfield, and looking to take more chances on deep passes, adding 48 yards per game shouldn’t be too much of a stretch, but presenting it as saying he will be a 4,000 ard passer sounds like an absolutely insane statement.
