Teddy Bridgewater connected on a 49 yard pass for a touchdown to Charles Johnson during week 1 of the 2016 preseason against the Bengals.

One of the most criticized parts of Teddy Bridgewater’s game is his ability to complete the deep pass. With rumblings that the Minnesota Vikings quarterback has been working hard to improve in that area, fans were left wondering just how much of that was noise and how much was reality.

During the second quarter of the week 1 preseason contest against the Cincinnati Bengals, Bridgewater was able to let go a deep pass to Charles Johnson with fantastic results.

Here is a video of that play as shared from the official Minnesota Vikings Twitter account:

It was a beautiful play from Bridgewater to Johnson. A nice double move by Johnson got the defender to bite, then he headed for the end zone. Bridgewater stepped in the pocket and unleashed the deep pass, with the ball landing right in the hands of Charles Johnson, giving the Vikings a 7-0 lead.

Hopefully this kind of success will translate over to the regular season and Bridgewater cash in on more deep passes. However, not every game will be against the Bengals second team defense during preseason.

Still, this should be encouraging to fans who are excited about the possibility of a more complete offense. Add Adrian Peterson to the mix, and things could get even more dangerous for the Minnesota Vikings offense. Fingers crossed, anyway.
