The Bad

  1. Punt coverage. Whether it is getting to the ball when the Vikings were punting or stopping Lockett when he was returning, special teams looked very rough. This is one thing that coach Priefer will have to work with his squad on before the regular season of the NFL begins.
  2. Christine Michael can’t be stopped. Michael is good, but is he really this good? Every time the ball was in his hands, it seemed like he was picking up at least 3 yards. Either he’s an upcoming star…or the team’s defense just couldn’t bring him down. Either way, it was frustrating to watch him run against the Minnesota defense.
  3. Michael Griffin isn’t looking so good. For a veteran, you expect more. Even when it’s an older player like Griffin getting a start, you expect certain things…but they definitely weren’t there. Like I always say, players have off games all the time and hopefully this is just an example of that. But it wasn’t pretty for him this game, as he was out of position quite a bit.
  4. Stop playing C.J. Ham RIGHT NOW. Seriously, don’t let another team get any more tape on this guy if you’re hoping to stash him on your practice squad. If you continue to giving him a lot of playing time, all that will happen is that he will end up being scooped up by another team. And that’s no good.
  5. Stave’s inconsistency is alarming. For every one good pass he makes, he makes two questionable ones. That is something he can continue to work on with the Vikings, but this is a good reminder of just how much Taylor Heinicke’s injury could be costly to the Vikings going forward.
