#2: Can Trae Waynes continue establishing himself?

Things were not pretty when it came to Trae Waynes from a fan point of view. After being the team’s top draft pick at #11 overall, many were expecting him to come to the team and contribute right away.

While Waynes sat behind veteran Terence Newman on the depth chart, other top cornerbacks in the draft were getting playing time and putting on some impressive performances. The rumblings from the fan base were not pleasant, as many started to wonder if Waynes was worthy of a draft pick.

However, when he did find action last season, his play was encouraging. Much like current starting cornerback Xavier Rhodes, Waynes did have some issues adjusting from his physical brand of play in college to the much more strict rules of the NFL.

Now, Waynes has been putting together some solid performances. There is hope that he will be the starting cornerback opposite Rhodes when the 2016 season kicks off for the Minnesota Vikings. But he will have to continue to show that he can handle the challenges put in front of him.
