Teddy Bridgewater

There are a lot of people around the nation who don’t think Teddy Bridgewater is a franchise quarterback. Most casual fans will simply look at the box score or how many fantasy points a player puts up to determine if that player is good or bad. However, those of us who watch the Minnesota Vikings on a weekly basis know the truth. Teddy is a great young quarterback, and I for one am extremely thankful that he wears the purple and gold on Sundays.

The starting quarterback is often referred to as the most important position in football. As Vikings fans, we are very familiar with that sentiment. For far too long, the Vikings have been an average-at-best team because of below-average quarterback play.

There are a few teams in the NFL who would be doomed if their starting quarterback went down during the season. The Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots are two Super Bowl contenders who would immediately regress without their star signal caller. The Dallas Cowboys went through that nightmare scenario last season, as they were only able to win one of the twelve games Tony Romo didn’t start.

If Teddy Bridgewater were to miss most or all of the 2016 NFL season, the Vikings wouldn’t be in dire straits like some other teams. They would, however, see any hopes of a championship vanish. Shaun Hill would presumably start in Teddy’s absence, but there is no way the 36 year old journeyman could lead any team to the Super Bowl, even a team as talented as the Vikings.
