The Interesting Occurrences

  1. That crowd is LOUD! There was no fooling when they were saying this new stadium could break records. Even during the activities before the game, fans were on twitter talking about how the place just amplifies sound and makes everything loud. That should help make things difficult for Vikings opponents.
  2. New home attendance record. This should be obvious, but it is great to see written out. Both the Metrodome and TCF Bank Stadium were smaller stadiums according to NFL standards, but U.S. Bank Stadium can fit a lot of butts in seats. Actually there were 66,143 butts there to watch preseason action.
  3. Preseason priorities. Seeing Kyle Rudolph not dive to catch a pass during the preseason is hard. The same going for watching Teddy Bridgewater slide when it was obvious to see that he wanted to try to truck that defensive back. But it is preseason and health should be the number one concern and it’s good not to risk things when not necessary.
  4. That’s a dirty hit! Wait…nope. Linval Joseph isn’t known for being gentle. He’s one of those powerful guys that is like a bull in a china shop. When he hits someone, ti can be powerful. So powerful, in fact, that the announcers thought a hit on Chargers QB Clemons looked unnecessary, but was clean and legal. The announcers apologized.
  5. So…now Skip Bayless is bringing his opinions to FOX Sports 1? The former ESPN First Take star has taken his ‘talents’ to ESPN. While many people disagree with his bold and argumentative approach to sports analysis, he is always making fans talk about the big issues. But will fans tune in?
