The Good Stuff
- Sitting just about everyone. Hill, Peterson. McKinnon, Asiata, and nearly every starting player found themselves sidelined for this game. Normally, this would be in the “bad things” category, but considering the recent events for the team, there is nothing wrong with playing it safe.
- Jarius Wright back shoulder catch. There is a lot to love about Wright. He’s one of the most reliable players on the Minnesota Vikings roster and is key to depth at wide receiver. But he showed more of that top WR talent with a very nice back shoulder catch that the official NFL Twitter account called “incredible”.
- Jayron Kearse continues to impress. During my draft evaluation, I talked about how this guy might need a season or two to develop. I said the same thing about Danielle Hunter. Turns out the Vikings coaching staff is very good at working with these guys who are raw talents and making them contribute much sooner than expected.
- Jhurell Pressley is here to play. Pressley is making it a real battle to see how will stick with the Minnesota Vikings on the practice squad this year. For a while, it looked as though C.J. Ham was going to have that spot wrapped up, but the more Pressley plays, the more impressive he gets.
- Ending the season on a winning note. Sweeping the preseason is usually a good thing unless you’re the Detroit Lions. It is especially good when you’re an up and coming team with a lot of young talent that is hoping to develop and take over for veterans. Hopefully, the team can keep this momentum going.
