The Minnesota Vikings have made a bold move to fix their problem at quarterback, trading for veteran Sam Bradford from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Just yesterday, the Minnesota Vikings spoke about their quarterback situation. They said that they weren’t willing to jeopardize the future of the franchise to get a quarterback to help the team win. It appears this was all a smokescreen.
In fact, the Vikings went as far to say that the player they pick up might be a passer they loved from a previous draft. While minds went to guys like Chase Daniel, A.J. McCarron, and others, one name seemed to be evading everyone’s lips.
However, that name appeared today, as the team announced their transaction and Adam Schefter was one of the first to report on it.
At first, this didn’t seem like a bad thing. The team was getting a quarterback that had some success in the past who could help push the team through the remainder of the season. However, when the compensation was announced, most fans didn’t seem to like what the team gave up.
Any time a first round draft pick is dealt, there should be immediate results. This means that Sam Bradford will likely be the team’s starting quarterback with Shaun Hill and Joel Stave behind him on the depth chart.
One thing to consider is that this trade brings together two former college football teammates.
This move is a real gamble from the Minnesota Vikings. They have pushed their poker chips into the middle of the table and have their hopes resting on the incredibly large salary and track record of struggling to stay healthy that Sam Bradford brings to the table.
Yet, there is no denying that Bradford may have been the best option out there for the team.

The Minnesota Vikings could have an all-new look with Sam Bradford. He can do some of the things Bridgewater was being criticized for, including making teams pay with deep passes. And that is one thing that Adrian Peterson is probably loving about this huge move.
