Minnesota Vikings: Week 1 MVPs vs Tennessee Titans
By Josh Zinger
Which players from the Minnesota Vikings were the most valuable to the team during week 1 of the 2016 NFl season against the Tennessee Titans?
In the first half of the Vikings’ opening contest, things did not appear to be going well at all. The offense, spearheaded by aging veteran Shaun Hill, simply couldn’t produce the explosive plays to make up for an uncharacteristically porous defense.
Luckily, the second half was a much different story, as the Vikings got everything more or less in line and scored 25 straight points to secure a 25-16 victory. The offense still lacked dynamic playmaking ability, but the defense more than made up for it with two defensive touchdowns. The Vikings will have to sort out their offense down the stretch to really contend, but this week’s combination of dynamic defense and cautious offense proved just enough.
Over the course of the season, The Viking Age will be recognizing the key contributors of every week, handing out awards for the most valuable player on offense and defense and highlighting one hidden gem from the week.
Here are the winners from the Viking’s opening day victory.
