Around the NFC

Well… The only unbeaten squad in the NFC is… Our Minnesota Vikings. Looking around there are only two 1 loss teams remaining, the aforementioned Dallas Cowboys, and the Seattle Seahawks.

Just a quick note, the New England Patriots are the only team remaining with only 1 loss in the AFC. Atlanta is the best team with 2 losses in the NFC, due in large part to their big play QB Matt Ryan and WR Julio Jones leading the #1 offense in the NFL.

According to Nate Silver’s Five Thirty Eight, the Minnesota Vikings have the best chance to win the Super Bowl. At 16% the Vikings only double-digit percentage opponents are the Seattle Seahawks (13%) and the New England Patriots (11%). They are followed by 4 consecutive AFC teams and then the Dallas Cowboys come up as the last NFL team with a 5% chance or better of winning the Super Bowl.

Obviously going in to week 7 it’s more than a tad premature to be crowning the Minnesota Vikings as not only NFC Champions, but Super Bowl Champions. The point of the matter is that the Minnesota Vikings are starting to get national attention, and it’s well deserved
