The best free-agent signings in the history of the Minnesota Vikings
By Adam Patrick
7. Jeff George, quarterback (1999)
His time with the Vikings did not last very long (just one season), but George definitely was worth the veteran’s minimum the team signed him for during the 1999 offseason.
He won nine of the 12 games he started for Minnesota, including a 27-10 victory over the Dallas Cowboys during the Wild Card round of that year’s playoffs. His 234.7 passing yards per game with the Vikings still ranks as the fourth best average in the team’s history.
