Vikings 2017 Draft Prospect Spotlight: Troy OT Antonio Garcia
By Jordan Reid
Fit on the Minnesota Vikings:
Garcia is an intriguing prospect because he is one of the few in this weak offensive line class that flashes the traits to potentially be a future starter at left tackle.
After a subpar showing at the Senior Bowl, Garcia’s stock declined a bit. Many were mentioning that he could rise into the first round, which is still possible, but his weaknesses were on full display down in Mobile, Alabama.

It is clear that the Vikings are going to address their offensive line through free agency and the draft. Tackle is arguably their biggest weakness along the offensive front.
With T.J. Clemmings, Jeremiah Sirles, and Rashod Hill the only tackles signed through next season, and the unknown status of free-agent left tackle Matt Kalil, it is vital that the team address offensive tackle at some point.
The team’s first pick is scheduled to be pick number 46 overall. The second round is slated to be the area that Garcia is currently projected to be drafted.

With all of these surrounding questions, Garcia would be an ideal fit as a developmental left tackle, who could eventually become a starter in the near future.
