The former general manager of the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, and Indianapolis Colts does not see a gold jacket in the future of the former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver.

After the most recent class for the Pro Football Hall of Fame was announced a few weeks ago, much was discussed about the fact that the NFL’s second all-time leader in career receiving yards in Terrell Owens was not among those to be getting enshrined this year.

In 2018, former Minnesota Vikings superstar wide receiver Randy Moss will be eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame for the first time. With Owens recent snub, some are wondering if Moss will endure a similar fate before he gets his own bronze bust in Canton, Ohio.

On Monday, former NFL general manager and Indianapolis Colts team president Bill Polian spoke with Clark Judge of Talkoffamenetwork.com on if Owens or Moss are deserving of their own Hall of Fame gold jacket.

"“I take neither. First of all, here’s my position: (I want players who) contribute both individually and to the team. That’s number one. Number two, every year in Indianapolis we said the following: ‘The price of admission is 100 percent effort all the time in everything we do.’ Well, how can we take Randy Moss when we make that statement? It’s that simple. You certainly wouldn’t call (Moss’ attitude) any harbinger or example of what you want in a football player”– Bill Polian, former NFL executive"

That is quite the statement from a 74-year-old man who drafted a cold-blooded killer in Rae Carruth during his time as the general manger for the Carolina Panthers.

Despite the fact that he himself is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Polian may not be the world’s best evaluator when it comes to judging those who are worthy of enshrinement. So it seems like a pretty good idea to take what he said with something even smaller than a grain of salt.
