The offensive tackle recently became a free-agent and the Minnesota Vikings are apparently one of the teams in the running to add him to their roster this offseason.
After just one season with the Denver Broncos, offensive tackle Russell Okung finds himself as a free-agent for the second offseason in a row. Okung entered free agency this year after the Broncos decided to not pick up the four-year option (what a surprise) on the contract the two parties had agreed to during last year’s free agency period.
The 29-year-old offensive lineman figures to draw plenty of interest this offseason and the Minnesota Vikings are reportedly one of the handful of teams that are exploring the idea of signing him.
Before his lone year in Denver, Okung spent six seasons with the Seattle Seahawks as the team’s left tackle. If the Vikings decide to not bring back free-agent left tackle Matt Kalil this offseason, Okung could be an intriguing replacement.
After signing an abysmal deal with the Broncos last offseason, Okung will likely be looking for a longer contract with more guaranteed money this year. So this may require Minnesota to shuffle around a few players to create some extra cap space if they are truly interested in signing the left tackle.

It really just all depends on how much faith the Vikings still have in Kalil, if any.
